The Meat Locker “Buddy” System

The newest page we’ve added to the Meat Locker is what you normally see on websites called a “Resource” page or a “Favorites” page. We took it a little further and have inspired ours behind the 90’s classic movie Heavyweights, and what everybody’s favorite camp counselor, Lars, refers to as the “Buddy System.” Below we’ve compiled a list of websites and “buddies” that are great resources for daily news and updates on some of our favorite sports and sports teams. We’ve also included their respective Twitter Handles and Facebook links. We highly recommend that you give them a look!

Life Of A Gamecock:  Adam Garrett runs the Life Of Gamecock blog and also contributes to Bleacher Report as a writer for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Garrett does a great job of analyzing all things Gamecocks, ranging from newly signed recruits to overall game analysis. For all the South Carolina fans out there, we highly recommend frequenting Life Of A Gamecock for daily breakdown of the Gamecocks.

The Rubber Chickens Blog: The guys at TRC are well-known for putting a comedic spin on your Gamecock needs. Their “breaking” stories and player analysis (that may or may not be somewhat fabricated) is what makes them worth the read. They’re also known for bringing a serious side to the Gamecocks, so don’t let the fiction deter you from making them a daily read at your work desk every morning.

Pats Propaganda: A great go-to for New England Patriots fans. They provide daily links to breaking Patriots updates, while at the same time keeping things light-hearted with funny images usually involving Tom Brady and Bill Billichick wardrobe choices. Pats Propaganda is a great read and a blog that we have grown to regularly reading. We even did a joint fan giveaway last year for a an autographed 8×10 of former Patriot, James Sanders.

The Rap Sheet: Ian Rapoport, formerly of the Boston Herald, can now be seen daily on the NFL Network. Rapoport made the huge career jump to the NFL Network earlier in 2012. Rapoport hosts a blog through the NFL Network called The Rap Sheet, what formerly was a blog rounded solely on the New England Patriots has now become a blog that gives you an in-depth look at the entire NFL. Rapoport is also worth the Twitter follow as he regularly interacts with fans, players and even those who don’t necessarily agree with his insight.
